CFS Charities, Verna defeated Dashing Boys 3-2 via kicks from the penalty mark after the final of Campeones De Futsal 3.0 ended 1-1 in regulation time. The tournament was organised by The Lazy Boys Futsal Club, powered by The Sports Hustle, Goa.
Beneston Barretto put CFS ahead but Dashing Boys equalised through Lyod in the very last minute of the match. The teams played some attacking futsal but the goalkeepers, Savio Pereira of CFS and Preston Rego of Dashing Boys, pulled off some good saves.
Sachin of Dashing Boys was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament for his consistent performance whereas Savio Pereira of CFS was named as the Best goalkeeper of the tournament for his excellent saves. The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and a trophy. The runners-up received Rs 40,000 plus a trophy. The semifinalists, Lotus FC and Ritu Boys were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each.
Before the finals, there was an exhibition match of the Indian Super League stars from Goa. The ISL players mesmerized the spectators with their skills, tricks, goals and some amazing saves. The Lazy Boys Futsal also organised a mini futsal tournament for the staff working at education institutes in which eight teams participated. The teams were MES, CES, St Joseph Vaz College, Dempo Charities Trust, Don Bosco Panaji, Rosary College, staff members of Directorate of Higher Education and ACDOPEG. MES College emerged winners, whereas the ACDOPEG (Association of College Directors of Physical Education of Goa) team finished as runners-up.
Siddhesh Kesarkar (Assistant Director of DHE, ex-footballer) was the chief guest for the finals while Ajinkya Kudtarkar (Director of Sports, Damodar College) and Tejas Nagvenkar (FIFA football referee) were the other guests.
The tournament was organized at The Base, Goa which is one of the best venues in the state for futsal.
