Churchill Brothers FC made short work of Compassion FC with a 3-0 win in the 6th Vedanta-GFA Women’s League match played at Rosary Church ground, Navelim on Thursday.
Aniela Baretto of Churchill Brothers gave her best for the team while Fatima Braganza was at her best for Compassion FC. The coach of Churchill Brothers, Girijadevi Narayan Dessai fielded Aniela Baretto upfront and also gave her extra task in the midfield. Compassion FC coach Gracy D'costa fielded Fatima Braganza upfront.
Churchill Brothers dominated the entire match. They shot into the lead in the very 2nd minute through Vinishka Simren Fernandes. Churchill missed an opportunity to increase the lead in the 11th minute as Rizella Almeida's shot hit the crossbar.
Churchill increased their lead in the 38th minute through Nevilla Colaco who scored from a free kick. Later, Aniela Barreto missed a goalscoring chance after a solo effort. Compassion FC’s Stessi Cardozo also missed a goalscoring chance in the 46th minute. Aniela Baretto netted the third goal for Churchill Brothers in the 55th minute.
GFA and FC Tuem president Dr Caitano Fernandes gave the Player of the match award to Aniela Baretto of Churchill Brothers.
