MARGAO: Compassion FC registered a 5-2 comeback victory over Sporting Clube de Rumdamol in the U-13 Khelo India girls football tournament, at SAG Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda, on Friday.
Criscia Almeida broke the deadlock for Sporting Clube de Rumdamol in the second minute. Undettered by the lead, Compassion FC went into attacking mode and Lilian Rodrigues cancelled out the lead for Compassion. Stung by the equaliser, Sporting Clube de Rumdamol regrouped quickly and Blissa Baretto inflated their tally in the 14th minute.
Post resumption, Compassion FC were dominant and Sahana Gaonkar who was on song neutralised the lead for Compassion. Spurred by the equaliser, Compassion FC were in his elements and in the 38th minute Sahana Gaonkar struck twice to register her brace. In the 44th minute, Sahana Gaonkar struck third time to register her hat-trick Prachi Gaonkar fired the last nail in Rumdamol coffin in the 46th minute.
