Curtorim Gymkhana moved to the semi-finals after defeating Guardian Angel SC 6-5 via the tie-breaker of 1st Antonio Rebelo Memorial, organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, at DSYA ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
The match started with Guardian Angel SC pressurising Curtorim Gymkhana on the defensive guard where they created a good move but their striker Norman Dias failed to score. Curtorim Gymkhana scored first goal through Mario Mascarehas in the 15th minute.
In the second half, Guardian Angel scored the equaliser through Godwin Fernandes in the 40th minute. Guardian Angel SC could have scored the winning goal but Godwin Fernandes' header was well saved by Curtorim keeper Johnson Bhagot.
The match ended 1-1.
In the tie-breaker, Curtorim Gymkhana scored through Joy Hilario, Welson Fernandes, Rhay Dias, Vicky Cardozo and Milagres Fernandes while Norman Dias, Keegan Fernandes, Godwin D'Costa and Myron Mendes were on target for Guardian Angel SC.
Ryce Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana was awarded the man of the match while Keegan Fernandes was given best defender of the match by James D'Costa General Secretary Curtorim Gymkhana.
