Davorlim Sports Club defeated Navelim Villagers Union 2-0 to advance to the finals of the 13th Wilred Leisure SC Cup, organised by Wilred Leisure SC Currorim, at DSYA Ground on Monday.
In the first half, Davorlim's Agnelo Colaco missed a chance to tap the ball into an open net in the 24th minute, while Navelim Villagers' Prestly Gomes narrowly missed the target with a left-footed shot just before half-time.
During the second half, Navelim Villagers' Sandroy Costa had his shot punched away for a corner by Davorlim keeper Francisco Colaco. The crucial goal came from Davorlim's Royson Colaco, who headed in a corner taken by Prince Figueredo in the 44th minute. Later, Ajay Raj of Davorlim netted the second goal with a solo effort, beating the defence and goalkeeper in injury time.
Royson Colaco of Davorlim was awarded the Man of the Match prize by Rinaldo Costa, a member of Wilred Leisure. Davorlim Sports Club will face Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda in the finals, scheduled for February 25.
