Eclate FC moved into the next round of the 5th Cumborda Sports Club football tournament with a convincing 3-1 victory over Madel SC at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Friday. The tournament is being organised by Cumborda Sports Club.
Despite heavy rains, both teams began the match with an attacking mindset. Madel SC struck early through Saish, who found the back of the net in the 6th minute. However, Eclate FC responded quickly, with Mario slotting in the equaliser off a fine assist from Vicky.
The momentum shifted in Eclate’s favour as Vicky got on the scoresheet himself in the 20th minute, giving his side a 2-1 lead. Madel came close to drawing level just before the break, but Ravin’s powerful effort rattled the crossbar.
After the lemon break, Milfred came close for Eclate, but his attempt was brilliantly saved by Madel goalkeeper Dylan. Eclate continued to press and were eventually rewarded when Sidney produced a composed finish to extend the lead to 3-1.
Madel SC pushed forward in search of a comeback, but Eclate’s defence remained firm to see out the win.
