Macasana Welfare Club secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Uguem Rising Club in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League, held at the Curtorim Ground on Friday.
Macasana dominated proceedings in both halves and were rewarded in the 17th minute when Nigel Raposo opened the scoring to put them ahead.
After the change of ends, Uguem Rising Club came back with renewed energy and managed to level the score in the 66th minute through Austin Coutinho. However, Macasana soon regained control, and Ryan Rodrigues netted the decisive winner in the 77th minute, sealing the three points.
Meanwhile, in another high-scoring encounter at the Raia Panchayat Ground, Raitura Sports Club Ilha de Rachol thrashed Arlem Youth Association 7-4 in an entertaining goal fest.
