Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, playing a fast paced game outmaneuvered Sporting Club of Davorlim 3-1, to move into the quarterfinals of Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup Inter-Village Football Tournament organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
Paroda ‘s outstanding player Cyril Dias drew first blood when he cleverly chipped the ball into the open net, when keeper Vensan Figueiredo moved forward in a one to one situation and failed to collect the ball. Cyril Dias made amends for his previous miss when he cleverly dribbled past two defenders to score his second goal of the match at lemon time.
In the second half Davorlim mounted pressure, particularly through their forward Jason Vales but Paroda defenders Crimson Fernandes and Velroy Fernandes stood their ground and in a counter attack. Joel Furtado scored with a powerful header to make it 3-0, but Davorlim scored a consolation goal through Paxton Gomes at the fag end of the match.
