MARGAO: Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda secured a spot in the semifinals of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy 2025, organized by Batora United Club in association with Margao Sports Club, after defeating United Club Verna 3-1 at the DSYA Ground in Curtorim on Thursday.
Sowell Fernandes gave Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda the lead in the 7th minute, and they went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. In the second half, United Club Verna tried to control the game but failed to capitalize on their chances. Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda extended their lead with two goals from Joel Furtado in the 27th and 37th minutes. United Club Verna managed to pull one back with Cliton Rebello's goal in the 40th minute.
Sowell Fernandes was named the Man of the Match, with the award presented by Leander Almeida and Valent Fernandes, former players of Dempo Sports Club.
