MARGAO: Nuvem SC advanced to the semifinals after defeating Guirdolim Club 2-1 in a thrilling quarterfinal at the 17th All Goa Inter-Village Seraulim Panchayat Cup, held at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
Nuvem opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a brilliant chip from Shubert Colaco, who skilfully lifted the ball over the goalkeeper into the net, giving Nuvem a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Guirdolim came back strong in the second half and equalized in the 42nd minute through Sildon Peixoto’s close-range strike, leveling the score at 1-1.
However, Nuvem regained the lead and sealed their victory in the 52nd minute when Inacio Colaco netted the winning goal, sending Nuvem to the semifinals.
Moses D'Sa of Guirdolim Club was named the Man of the Match, with the award presented by former USC Seraulim footballer, Pascoal Fernandes.
