Adv Surendra Gauns has taken over as the president of the Goa Judo Association after long-serving administrator Gurudatta Bhakta officially stepped down from his role, concluding 28 years of service.
According to a press release, the judo association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 17, saw the election of a new executive body, overseen by a panel including Ravindra W Patil, JFI Observer; Vivek Pawar, SAG Observer; Paulo Killman Fernandes, GOA Observer; and Jayesh C Naik, Returning Officer.
The following individuals were elected unopposed to the new leadership team: Adv Surendra Gauns “ President, Vignesh G Bhakta “ Vice President, Kripesh Vengurlekar “ Honorary Secretary, Girish Pednekar “ Joint Secretary, Ruildo D’Souza “ Treasurer; Executive Committee Members - Paresh Khorjuvekar, Siddheshwar S Naik, Sadanand L Naik, Shivkaran Kewat, Ramkrishna Shirodkar.
