Unjirim United Club delivered a commanding performance on Monday, defeating Pidadigal Sports Club 7-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Batora United 9-a-side football tournament. The match, held at the St. Alex Church ground in Curtoim, was a one-sided affair, with Unjirim United showcasing superior play across all areas.
Unjirim United opened the scoring with three goals in the first half and added four more in the second. Roswin Dias led the attack with a brace, scoring in the 7th and 44th minutes. Valroy Antao also netted twice, with goals in the 30th and 45th minutes. Daniel Menezes, Floyd Antao, and Floyd Luis each contributed to the scoreline, finding the net in the 25th, 50th, and 55th minutes, respectively.
Despite Pidadigal SC's efforts to close the gap, their attempts were unsuccessful. Roswin Dias was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, with the prize presented by Conceicao Fernandes, a club member.
