Goa Football Association has named the squad for the State Senior Women's Nationals to be held in the first week of March.
Players have to report to head coach Girijadevi Desai and assistant coach Gracy D’Costa at Bambolim Stadium. The players have been shortlisted for the selection cum coaching camp to be held from February 13, 8 am to 10 am, at Bambolim Stadium.

Antruj Rising Stars win T20 title
Quepem United in association with CSK organised a 20/20-over leather ball tournament at Agonda SAG under the banner of Royal Raje T20 Trophy. Out of the 6 contesting teams, Antruj Rising Stars, Ponda and Quepem United made it to the finals while CQS, Curchorem and CSK Cuncolim battled it out for the 3rd spot. Antruz won a closely fought final by one wicket. Quepem United had to settle with the runners-up trophy while CSK bagged 3rd place after restricting CQS to a paltry score of 23.
DBO Fatorda make it to semis
Don Bosco Oratory of Fatorda got the better of Cuncolim Union 5-3 to enter the semifinals of the Fr Bruno Leitao Memorial inter-village football tournament played at OL of Hope church ground, Chinchinim. DBO scored through Cliff Barreto, Hanslum Furtado, Sweton Rebello, Velton D’Souza and Francis Andrade while Daulat Desai and Dailin Carvalho netted a goal each for Cuncolim Union. Francis Andrade of Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda was named the Man of the Match.
Bombay Referees Assn official Pinto passes away
Antonio Pinto the longest-serving honorary secretary of the Bombay Referees Association passed away after a brief illness at his daughter's residence in Chicalim. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. A towering figure running the Bombay Referees Association, Pinto was an ex-AIFF national referee. "A mentor a teacher and a motivator for many of us who were groomed under his leadership. He can never be forgotten for the service he rendered to the refereeing family in Maharashtra and especially Mumbai referees," said Walter Pereira, AFC Referee Assessor and ex-Fifa assistant referee.
“It is really sad to hear that Mr Pinto is no more. His invaluable contribution to football and Grand Club of Assolna will always remain with us. I share the grief,” said Levinson Martins, president of Club of Assolna. He was also president of Grand Club of Assolna. In his condolence message, secretary Peter Furtado, said, “Mr Pinto was a great lover of football and his dedication to football was unparalleled. May his soul rest in peace."
The funeral will be held tomorrow evening at 4 pm at St Francis Xavier Church, Chicalim, Goa.
