Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda- Margao defeated Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna by 46 Runs in the Goa University inter collegiate cricket men championship, at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna and elected to bowl.
Government College Borda-Margao posted 165/9 in 20 overs.
Junaid Sayyad 41(37) not out and Mohamed Bilal 35(31) were the main contributors of the innings. Saish Nagzerkar picked up two wickets for the Verna college.
In the reply, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna could only amass 119/7 in 20 overs.
Saish Nagzerkar 27(17) and Abhishek Diwadker 21(29) were the top scorers for them. Tejas Kumar and Bansil Pandya managed to get two wickets.
In the second match, Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora defeated Don Bosco College, Panjim by 9 runs.
The toss was won by Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora who elected to bat.
Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora were bundled out for 145/10 in 20 overs.
Siddhant Gawas 35(20) and Anirudh Parwar 32(27) made the most with the bat.
Shivam Valvaikar (2/05) and Sankalp Naik (2/29) were economical with the ball.
In reply, Don Bosco College, Panjim were bowled out for 136 in 20 overs.
Shounak Painginkar 35(30) was the only batsman shining in the Don Bosco squad.
Sahil Naik (3/23) and Shirshak Naik (2/8) managed to pick up the wickets for Dharbandora.
