Jamshedpur FC is poised to sign goalkeeper Albino Gomes from Sreenidi Deccan for the upcoming ISL 2024-25 season. Gomes, originally from South Goa, previously clinched the I-League title with Aizawl FC in 2016-17 under coach Khalid Jamil. Now, he is set to reunite with Jamil at Jamshedpur FC.
Gomes suffered a severe injury in December 2021 while playing for Kerala Blasters, sidelining him for 10 months. To regain his fitness, he joined Churchill Brothers for the 2022-23 I-League season, playing 17 matches. His performance earned him a move to Sreenidi Deccan, where he kept seven clean sheets in 18 games, catching the attention of ISL teams.
Jamshedpur FC, preparing for a packed season involving the Durand Cup, ISL, and Super Cup, will benefit from Gomes' experience. The team's pre-season camp is expected to start in July. Along with Gomes, Jamshedpur FC has secured Sreekuttan VS from Gokulam Kerala and extended contracts for key players Rei Tachikawa and Seiminlen Doungel, indicating strong preparations for the next season.
