The pair of Karan and Siraj emerged victorious after defeating Aayan and Siddhesh in the finals of man's doubles badminton tournament organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh at Saligao. Goa's top 8 teams were invited to participate in the Late Suryakant Kavalekar Badminton Tournament sponsored by Nilesh Kavalekar in the memory of his late father.
In an exciting final played at the Saligao flood light badminton court, Karan and Siraj defeated Aayan and Siddhesh in two straight sets 23 - 21, 21 - 17. The pair won a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Aayan and Siddhesh received Rs 7,000 being the runners up.
The president of Adarsh Yuvak Sangh and the former Sarpanch of Saligao Eknath Oraskar gave away the prizes alongwith General Secretary Satchit Gaonkar. Deepak Navelkar was also acknowledged for his efforts in organising the tournament.
