Luke Stars Benaulim beat Dream 7 4-3 in the tie-breaker to win the Domnic Fernandes and Domnic Colaco (Kodak) Memorial Trophy floodlit soccer tournament, organised by United friends Benaulim, at Green Field grounds, Rock Island, Benaulim.
The Benaulim team surged ahead when skipper Nicolas blasted a free-kick past rival keeper Allwyn. The Benaulim lads were in control but two minutes before the close, Dream 7 got the equaliser when Santan sent a cross inside the box to Richard, whose shot beat Benaulim keeper Reaston. In the tie-breaker, Luke Stars edged Dream 7.
The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy. Individual prizes: Best player of the tournament - Velito (Luke Stars), Best defender of the tournament - Roger (St Rock Fatrade), Best goalkeeper of the tournament - Allwyn (Dream 7), Best half of the tournament - Richard (Dream 7), Best goalkeeper of the finals - Reaston (Luke Stars), Man of the finals - Nicholas (Luke Stars).
