Madgaon Royals beat Priority Titans by 61 runs to top the league standings in the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series Cricket at Arlem cricket ground,
Electing to bat first, in a match to decide the final qualifying team for the knockouts, Madgaon Royals started in rampaging fashion with the openers Aditya Dalal (28) and the skipper Damodar Pai Patnekar (50) putting on 82 runs in 39 balls for the opening wicket.
Though the Royals lost wickets at regular intervals, their batters kept the run rate ticking at over 10 runs per over with useful contributions from Neelay Naik Dalal (19), Prasheel Kamat (28) and Sudhir Kenkre (24) as they put on an imposing 185 in 20 overs aided by 21 extras. For the Titans, Rudresh Kamat with figures of 3-29 was a standout performance and his bowling effort got support from Venkatesh Salelkar 1-25, Mahesh Churi 1-28 and Sukrut Pai 1-29.
In reply, Priority Titans were rocked in the very 1 st over as Sukrut Pai and Yogesh Dalal were consumed by a fiery opening spell from Kartik Hattangadi dismissing both the batters on ducks. Though Sairaj Dhond (37), Aditya Prabhugaonkar (16), Swapnil Kakodkar (14), Amod Borkar (10) and Varun Kudchadkar (21) tried their best, the Titans could not catch up with the rising run rate as they folded up for 124 in 17.1 overs, losing the match by 61 runs.
Aditya Dalal was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-27-4 for the Royals and received good support from Kartik Hattangadi 2-15, Shaunit Sawardekar 2-33, Vikram Gaitonde 1-22 and Aditya Tendulkar 1-6.
Their 5 th victory helped Madgaon Royals to jump to the top position after the completion of the league matches and they will play the MLT PDK Kings in the Qualifier “ I of the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series on Sunday 14 th April in the morning match at Arlem Cricket Ground
Aditya Dalal was awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match medal and the Estilo Moderno Realty Man of the Match trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 for his brilliant all round performance for the Madgaon Royals.
