Mandovi Pariwar won the prestigious Canacona Premier League tennis ball cricket by defeated Palolem Warriors by 17 runs. The tournament was organised by Youth Of Paneyfond-Mangan Canacona, on Monday.

Team Mandovi Parivar defeated Palolem Warriors by 17 runs in a splendid show of talent by their batsman and bowlers.

After winning the toss, Palolem Warriors chose to field. Mandovi Parivar quickly built up the score with a fine knock by Vinesh Satarkar. Satarkar scored 45 runs (1x4 and 6x6) in just 17 deliveries with the veteran Sachin Naik scoring 13 runs providing the support from the other end as the innings came to an end at 81/5 in the 6 overs match. Ajit, Manjesh, Milendra and Mukesh took a wicket each for Palolem Warriors.

In reply, Palolem Warriors though lost just 2 wickets could manage to score only 64 runs in 6 overs, thus conceding defeat by 17 runs.

The winners took away a trophy and Cash award of Rs 75,000 while the runners-up had to be content with a Runner-up trophy and a purse of Rs 50,000. CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaonkar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Councillor and Ex-Chairperson Simon Rebello

Vinesh Satarkar of Mandovi Parivar who is adjudged as the man-of-the- series, best batsman, man-of-the-finals and highest sixes in the tournament was awarded a trophy along with a refrigerator. Another prodigy of Mandovi Parivar Vishal Naik won the best bowler award.
