DOHA, QATAR
Brazil fans in Qatar are in an upbeat mood, thanks in a large measure to the twin events which took place last week in a country which will host the World Cup in a few months’ time.
The visit of Real Madrid and Brazilian defender Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior and the Brazilian Fans meet in Qatar held at the World Cup countdown clock at Corniche has lifted the Brazilian spirits to an all-time high off the field. Marcelo was in Qatar at the invitation of a private party and unveiled the logo of the Brazilian Fans Qatar at a city mall.
The Brazilians Fans group in Qatar consists mostly of Indians hailing from Kerala, and around 350 of them were present for the function at Corniche, which was graced by Indian Sports Centre President Dr Mohan Thomas, who also hails from Kerala.
No other official from the Brazilian embassy were present but a handful of Brazilian citizens were present including popular vlogger Carol Bianchini, who interacted with fans and posed for pictures at the venue.
Speaking about the upcoming programs Salman, coordinator for the various fans groups, said: “We plan to make the stay of fans, coming from Brazil and other parts of the world, a comfortable one.”
“We will introduce them to Arab culture and spread awareness about the traditions here in the Middle East country,” added Salman, who hails from Kerala.
