Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim, prevailed over Mount Mary's High School, Chinchinim, 6-5 via the tiebreaker in the St Jude's Cup 2022, organised by St Jude's High School, Betalbatim, at Betalbatim Panchayat ground, on Friday. The score was 1-1 at the end of the regulation time.
Mount Mary's opened the scoring through the boots of Shawn. Our Lady of Health equalised through Nash Fernandes. In the resultant tiebreaker, Our Lady of Health proved to be better shooters. In the U-14 girls exhibition match, St Jude's HS, Betalbatim got the better of Our Lady of Carmel HS, Curtorim, in the tie breaker.
The chief guest of the finals was Avertano Barreto, Director of Physical Education, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.
The following prizes were awarded: Best disciplined team - Saviour of the World High School, Loutolim, Best player of the tournament - Sharmad Kurade (Our Lady of Health), Best defender of the tournament - Nash Fernandes (Our Lady of Health), Best goalkeeper of the tournament - Shawn Viegas (Mount Mary's).
