Paldem Sports Club dominated Jolly Boys of Sinaibhag in a convincing 2-0 victory, securing their spot in the semi-finals of the 9-a-side football tournament, organised by Sporting Club Virabhat, at St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Friday.
Paldem took an aggressive approach from the start, putting pressure on Sinaibhag's defense. Their efforts paid off in the 18th minute when Benny unleashed a powerful shot from inside the box that bulged the net. Sinaibhag nearly equalised just before halftime, but Joban's shot rattled the crossbar and bounced away, leaving the score at 1-0 in Paldem's favor.
The second half saw Sinaibhag pushing for an equaliser, but Paldem's defensive trio of Diago, Seby, and Peter held firm. Paldem capitalised on Sinaibhag's attacking approach, with Godwin slotting home a well-placed shot to extend their lead.
Despite some impressive saves from Sinaibhag's goalkeeper Manuel, Paldem maintained control and secured a comfortable 2-0 victory. Godwin's outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award which was presented by Melvin Mascarenhas.
