Parish Youth Nuvem edged out Fr. Agnelo Youth Sports Club Paroda 5-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim victory in the All-Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by the United Club of Utorda in memory of their late member, Nicholas Rodrigues.
The match, part of the Lourdes Festival Soccer, saw Fr. Agnelo, Paroda dominate the first half, controlling possession and creating several chances. However, Nuvem bounced back strongly in the second half, asserting their presence on the field. Despite both teams' efforts, the match ended 0-0 at full time, leading to a tense penalty shootout.
In the tie-breaker, Nicolau Colaco, Godfrey Mascarenhas, Hudson Dias, Jovial Costa, and Alvito Dias all converted successfully for Nuvem. Fr. Agnelo responded with goals from Kanchan Kiro, Nelson Fernandes, and Allister Menezes, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Nuvem's goalkeeper, Macvin Colaco, by Chief Guest Tony Da Costa, for his crucial role in the victory.
