Verna Veterans advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-2 tiebreaker win against Fatorda Veterans in the Fifth Pogo Boys 50+ Veterans Cup, on Tuesday.
Verna Veterans were quick off the blocks with the nippy Seby Vaz giving them an early lead in the very fourth minute.
Fatorda stayed unfazed and deservingly got the equaliser when Francis Pango found the back of the Verna net.
Thereafter, both sides went all out for a winner, but the match ended 1-1 to force a shootout.
In the deciding tiebreaker, Verna Veterans proved to be the better shooters to book their place against Merces Veterans, on August 12.
On Wednesday, Cavelossim Veterans will play Quepem Veterans, at 5 pm at the Merces Church ground.
