A triple strike by Prissy Pereira helped Navelim Sporting Club rout UC Telaulim 4-1 in the Khelo India Under-17 Girls League at Sinquetim Ground on Friday.
Navelim Sporting dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the back foot but could not score due to tardy marksmanship. United Club of Telaulim broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Rhea Gomes slotted past the rival goalkeeper.
Unfazed, Navelim Sporting went into attacking mode and Prissy Pereira neutralized the lead in the 41st minute. Navelim lasses mounted more pressure and in the 43rd minute, Prissy stuck her second goal. The second session belonged to Navelim Sporting as Erica Fernandes added her name to the scoresheet in the 57th minute. Prissy drove the last nail into the rival coffin in the 75th minute to complete her hat-trick.
Curtorim Gymkhana pip Fr Agnelo YSC
Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda 1-0 to advance into the quarterfinals of Carmona Village Panchayat Cup organized by Carmona Sports Club.
The teams failed to score in the first half. In the second half, Curtorim played well and managed to score in the 44th minute. The all-important goal was scored by Joy Hilario. In Saturday’s match, Cuncolim Union will meet Parish Youth Nuvem at 4.30 pm.
