Guardian Angel Sports Club secured a hard-fought victory over Sesa Football Academy in the GFA Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Wednesday.
The decisive moment arrived in the 77th minute when Joel Barreto netted the solitary goal of the match. Despite Sesa FA's confident start following their previous 4-0 triumph over Young Boys of Tonca, they struggled to convert their early chances into goals. Umang Gaikwad tested Guardian Angel SC goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues, who responded with a commendable save. Both teams squandered additional opportunities, with Shridharnath Gawas missing the target for Sesa FA.
However, the game's turning point came in the 77th minute, courtesy of Joel Barreto's well-executed strike, securing the vital three points for Guardian Angel. Joel's exceptional performance earned him the well-deserved title of Player of the Match.
Guardian Angel now have six points from two matches, while Sesa FA maintain their position with three points from an equal number of outings.
