The XII Sita Pandhari Raikar Memorial chess tournament organised by Canacona Sports & Cultural Club and sponsored by Ratnakar Raikar will be held on Sunday, July 17.
The players studying in the local schools or those whose parents are residents of Canacona can participate. The tournament will be in two age categories -- U-15 (born on or after 1/8/2007) and A-15 (born on or before 31/7/2007).
There will be rolling trophies for both the winners and cash prizes for first six position winners. Also age group prizes for U-13, -11, -9 & -7 boys and girls will be awarded with trophies. Interested players can register by paying an entry fee of Rs 100 to Durgesh Gaonkar, Santosh Satarkar, Anil Kamat or Vallabh Desai, on or before July 15.
