MARGAO
Strong winds and heavy rains blew away the metal roof sheets of the DYSA Ground, Cuncolim.
Goa was put on red alert with a warning of heavy to very heavy rains by the IMD on Friday. Fortunately, no one was injured or any other property damaged. After the strong winds, some roof sheets landed in a field, while some others were seen strewn inside on the top.
The Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) officials informed that around six sheets were blown away by the strong winds. SAG executive engineer Deepak Lotlikar told The Goan that a works order is being obtained to repair the roof and the works will start within 6 to 10 days.
