Goa all-rounder Mohit Redkar and pacer Arjun Tendulkar have been selected for the high-performance camp for emerging cricketers 2023.
The All India Men’s selection committee of BCCI has selected both the Ranji players of Goa Cricket Association based on their performance in the 2022-23 Ranji season. The camp for Ranji players will be conducted at NCA Bengaluru from August 17 to September 5.
Off-spinner and right-handed batter Mohit bagged 19 wickets in his first Ranji season with two five-wicket hauls, in his debut match against Rajasthan and later against Kerala. He also scored 238 runs in 7 matches. He also performed well in the Col. C. K. Nayudu U-25 cricket with 145 runs in 3 games and grabbed 6 wickets. Tendulkar, who played for Goa as a professional, bagged 12 wickets and scored 223 runs in 7 Ranji matches. He also played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Spring Boys Mandopa reach finals
Spring Boys Mandopa prevailed over Telaulim Boys 4-2 via the tiebreaker and moved into the final of Navelim Villagers Union Trophy inter-ward football tournament at Rosary ground time Navelim on Thursday.
In the first half, Mandopa netted the first goal of the match through Freldon; a long ranger shot off a Preston pass in the 9th minute. A power-packed shot hit the Telaulim crossbar and went out of play in the 14th minute. Then Telaulim equalised through Jason's curler freekick in the 21st minute. In the tiebreaker, SpringCboys Mandopa proved to be better shooters.
