Rising Star Sports & Cultural Club won the 2nd edition of the Independence Day Clive Coutinho Memorial Grassroots Festival organised by Chicalim Sports Club at Rosa Sports Arena, Dabolim.
Rising Star SCC, Sada defeated Vasco United FC, Issorccim to win the U-13 group while Rosa Sports Academy, Dabolim defeated Vasco United FC to win the U-10 group. Aayan from Rosa Sports Academy won the Best Player award in the U-10 age group, while Judah Fernandes won the late NP Rajesh Trophy for Best Player in the U-13 age group.
Conrad Coutinho, the proprietor of Street Biryani Food, Dabolim, who was the chief guest, presented the trophies and medals along with Assis Sequeira, Alex Pereira, James D'Costa, Valeriano Godinho, Neville Reys and Anita Vaz.
AT Foundation celebrates Int'l Youth Day
AT Foundation and AdapT Football Academy celebrated International Youth Day in Uttur and Mugali on August 12. One hundred twenty boys and girls participated in the programme where they were explained the importance, contribution and responsibilities of the youth in society's development.
Bhakti Pawar, the foundation head, shared how Anju Turambekar, a former footballer and founder of the foundation and academy, made her life through sports despite facing adverse conditions while living in a village. Turambekar also interacted with the trainees virtually. The principal of Uttur Vidyalaya, Shailendra Amanagi, and academy coach Akash Desai were also present.
Raia FC U-13 trials on Aug 21
Raia Football Club will conduct football selection trials for under-13 boys (those born on or after January 1, 2011) at Raia Panchayat grounds on August 21 at 3 pm. Interested boys should report to coach Ronaldo Dias at the venue with their original birth certificate, Aadhaar card copy and self-photograph.
