Ruthvik Raikar of RCC Vasco won the 3rd Inter-RCC August Month Rolling Trophy Chess Tournament organised by Chess RCC Curchorem at the Sports Complex in Curchorem on Sunday.
Ruthvik scored an impressive 6.5 points out of 7. Rochel Pereira of RCC Fatorda secured the second position, while Erwin Albuquerque of RCC Vasco secured the third place with 6 points. The others in the top 10 were: 4th - Sidh Rane, 5th - Rachel Pereira, 6th - Asmi Terse, 7 - Keith Albuquerque, 8th - Deep Bhatikar, 9th - Ved Naik, 10th - Dwinnie Fernandes.
GYSC trainees perform demonstrations in schools
Goa Yuva Sports Club (GYSC) organised a demonstration of talwar, lathi and self-defence techniques by its karate black belt students at St Xavier's High School, Moira and Dattaram Mantravadi Memorial High School, Mapusa.
The demonstration was performed by coach Kumar Thame and 10 students of GYSC including black belt students Kanish Goltekar, Piyush Kaloke and Prathamesh Kaloke. The GYSC president Krutika Goltekar has offered to start free classes at both schools.
GTBCA announces team for national league
Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association have selected the following players who will represent Goa in the 1st All India Tennis Ball Cricket League 2023 to be organisd at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh from September 1 to 6.

Sirlim SC U-15 team trials on Aug 30, 31
Sirlim Sports Club will conduct selection trials for their under-15 football team for participation in the GFA tournament, at Assolna Ground on August 30 & 31, starting at 3.30 pm. Players born on or after January 1, 2009 are eligible to participate. Players are required to report at the venue with their complete playing kit on both the dates.
