Santas come riding to Salcete

PANAJI
As many as 120 cyclists took to road on Tuesday evening to celebrate the Xaxti Riders Christmas Ride, 2021.

Clad in ‘made for the occasion’ red T-shirts, the swarm of cyclists with all lights on and spirits bright, roamed across the beautiful villages of Curtorim, Macasana and Chandor.

The cyclists rode through the wonderland of lit homes and Christmas trees -- singing carols at every nook and corner and delighting the watchers and the passerbys.

The 23-km ride, with a brief refreshment halt at Chandor Monte, ended a couple of hours later.

“It’s been a year of challenges which has made us stronger,” says Xaxti Riders president Sameer Nadkarni. “It’s also been a great year of cycling, making new friends, boosting immunity and busting stress. We look forward to upping it more in 2022.”

Xaxti Riders is a hugely-popular cycling club in South Goa. Over the years, it has built-up sizeable biking community.
