Shiroda Youth Club defeated FC Siolim 2“1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2nd edition of the Vauradeancho Ixtt Trophy, organised by Margao SC in association with United Club of Batora, at the DSYA Ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
Shiroda opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Jonathan D’Costa, before FC Siolim’s Akshay Mandrekar pulled one back in the 35th minute. Ravindra Gaude restored Shiroda’s lead in the 40th minute, which proved decisive.
For his match-winning performance, Jonathan D’Costa was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Chief Guest Valito D’Costa in the presence of Guest of Honour Neves Fernandes.
On Sunday, Fr. Agnel Youth Club Paroda edged past Uguem Club Rising 1“0 to book their place in the quarterfinals.
The closely contested encounter was decided in the 45th minute when Rayan Menezes scored the lone and decisive goal for Fr. Agnel Youth Club Paroda.
For his match-winning performance, Rayan Menezes was adjudged Man of the Match. The award was presented by Caitano Mascarenhas, Vice President of Batora, along with Conceicao Fernandes, member of Batora United Curtorim.
