Shree Damodar Vidyalaya High School recorded a eight-wicket win over Bhatikar Model High School in the inter-school leather ball taluka-level final organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs on Friday.
Batting first in the match played at Fatorda, Bhatikar Model High School posted 86 for 7 in 20 overs. In reply, Shree Damodar Vidyalaya High School comfortably chased down the target, scoring 87 for 2 in just 13.2 overs.
For Bhatikar, Vansh Naik top-scored with 20 runs, while Aarav Gaude remained unbeaten on 10. Extras also provided some support to the total. For Shree Damodar, Ansh Kashyap claimed 2 wickets for 11 runs and Affan Shaikh picked up 2 for 16 to restrict the opposition. Usman Ghani also took one wicket.
Chasing the modest target of 87, Usman Ghani played a quick knock of 25 runs off 18 balls. Rumaan Mulam anchored the innings with a composed unbeaten 45, including five boundaries, sealing the victory. Mohammed Ehtesham contributed 9 runs.
Bhatikar’s bowlers failed to make an impact, allowing Shree Damodar Vidyalaya High School to cruise to victory and clinch the title.
