St Rock Majorda downed 9-men Chandor Club 3-2 to enter the semifinals of the Cavelossim Panchayat Rolling Trophy Inter-Village Football tournament sponsored by Cavelossim Panchayat and organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
Chandor took the field with just nine players but played with grit and determination to hold Majorda goalless during the regulation time. In the first half, Wendel of Majorda dribbled past Sildon and Sevaraj only to shoot into the side netting to the dismay of their supporters in the 20th minute. Crossing over Chandor could have taken the lead but Mario’s shot from goal mouth was blocked by Xavier with the goalkeeper beaten, to take the match into the tiebreaker, where Josley, Ashley and Xavier scored for Majorda while Mario and Valentino converted for Chandor 3-2.
The Man of the Match was awarded to Alreach Peixeto of Chandor at the hands of Chief Guest panch John Barretto.
