Goan Swimmer Sanjana Prabhugaonkar, won five medals at the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships 2022 at Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. Sanjana won four Silver and one bronze medal in all her five events.
On day one, she got her first silver in 200m freestyle (women 15 to 17 yrs) with a timing of 2:09:69. In 100m backstroke (women 15 to 17 yrs), Sanjana won her second silver with a timing of 1:07:09.
On day three, in 50m backstroke, Sanjana bagged her third silver medal with a timing of 30:83. On day four, she got her fourth silver medal, in 200m backstroke (women 15 to 17 yrs) with a timing of 2:25:90. On the last day of the five-day championship, Sanjana won a bronze in 100m freestyle with timing of 1:00:62.
The Goan is undergoing full time competitive high performance swimming training in Dubai under the guidance and mentorship of swimming coach Pradeep Kumar at Aqua Nation Sports Academy, Dubai.
