The ASMITA tennis-ball cricket women’s league concluded successfully at the Panchayat Ground, Kundaim, Ponda, with 12 teams from across Goa taking part.
Organised by the Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association under the banner of the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, the newly introduced league drew an enthusiastic response from young and aspiring female tennis ball cricketers, who showcased strong commitment and passion throughout the event. The initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, implemented through SAI, was widely appreciated by women athletes across the state.
Titans, Velguem emerged champions, defeating Dhruv, Parse, while Shantadurga Warriors, Marcel and 11 Star, Parye secured joint third place. Individual honours went to Kanviksha Rakdo (Player of the Final), Sweety Parab (Best Bowler), Purva Gaude (Best Batter) and Deesha Kambli (Best Player of the League).
Dr Ajay R Gaude, Director of Sports and Executive Director, SAG, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest. He was joined by Dr Gangadariah, Vice President of TBCFI, Kundaim Sarpanch Sarvesh Phadte and other dignitaries, who later presented cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
