Tri Goa Foundation will start the 2021 endurance cycling season by organising three cycle rides, the 50kms, 100kms and the 200km cycle rides on January 10.
The 200km Brevet Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM) cycle ride will start at 6.00 hours from Panaji and move along South Goa’s coastline till Cavelossim and turn into Caurem and Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary. The cyclists will then ride from Margao-Borim-Loutolim-Old Goa to return to Panaji to complete the 200km ride in the stipulated time of 13:30 hours to qualify for a medal from Audax Club Parisien (ACP), France.
Likewise, the 100km Brevet Populaire (BP) cycle ride will start at 6.15 hours from Panaji and cyclists will proceed towards Cortalim-Dabolim-Majorda-Betalbatim and turn into Margao-Borim-Loutolim-Old Goa to return to Panaji within the allotted time of 7:30 hours to qualify for a medal from Audax India Randonneurs (AIR).
While the Tri Goa ‘Half Century Ride’ will start at 6:30 hours from Panaji and cyclists will ride to St Jacinto Island and take a U-turn and return to Panaji within the allotted time of 4 hours to qualify for a medal from Tri Goa.
Riders have to be minimum 12 years of age and those below 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate in the 50km endurance ride, whereas the 100km BP and 200km BRM are open to 18 years and above only.
