A fine brace from Dailon Carvalho enabled United Boys of Ambaulim humble SWC Zaino in the Goa Football Association Second Division League with a 5-1 win at Rosary ground, Navelim.
Dailon, who has been instrumental for Ambaulim in this edition, scored a goal in either half to secure full points whereas Teron Fernandes scored early in the 8th minute to put them ahead in the game. Suraj Gaonkar pulled a goal back for Zaino. But Royston Fernandes and Rayson Carvalho added two more goals to the Ambaulim tally.
Arlem enter final of Varca P'yat Cup
Arlem Youth Association downed San Jose de Areal to move into the finals of Varca Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by Varca Sports Club on Friday. The match was goalless at half-time.
In the 42nd minute, a powerful shot from Allen Fernandes hit the crossbar, which landed near Sweden Barbosa, who placed it into the far corner of the net, giving no chance to Dezi Oliveira of San Jose de Areal. Down by a goal, San Jose de Areal Jalliston Cardozo tried hard to equalised but Priston Gomendes missed an open chance.
Garrison Fernandes scored the second goal for Arlem Youth Association. In the 61st minute through a penalty. Sweden Barbosa of Arlem Youth Association was adjudged the man of the match.
OL Gloria SC thrash Fr Agnelo YC 4-1
Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club Ilha de Rachol made short work of Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club Paroda 4-1 in the GFA Second Division League at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda on Friday. Gloria led 1-0 at half time.
Our Lady of Gloria took the lead in the 33rd minute when Danny Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Post resumption, Gloria continued in same vein as Danny Fernandes struck a second time to register his brace in the 64th minute.
Daren Gomes then added his name to the scorers' list. In the 66th minute, Larren Dias put the issue beyond doubt before Anthony Dias pulled one back for Fr Agnelo in the second half injury time.
PY Nuvem power past Varca SC 4-0
A triple strike by Meislen Baretto helped Parish Youth Nuvem drub Varca Sports Club 4-0 in the GFA Second Division League at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Friday.
Parish Youth enjoyed total domination and Meislen opened the scoring in the 39th minute. Five minutes later, Meislen scored his brace. Crossing over, Parish Youth continued in the same vein and in the 54th minute, Meislen completed his hat-trick. Schubert Borges fired the last nail into the rival coffin in the 86th minute.
