Varca Veterans and Seraulim Veterans will lock horns in the CLCAC committee tournament at Vaddie ground which under the patronage of Captain Venzy Viegas, MLA of Benaulim constituency after spectators witnessed two exciting semi-final matches.
The first semi-final saw Varca Veterans emerge victorious with a convincing 2-0 win over Colva. The opening half was a closely fought contest, ending in a goalless draw. However, the second half belonged to Tennyson Rosa, who displayed his brilliance with two goals in quick succession in the 43rd and 48th minutes. The stellar performance secured Varca's place in the final and earned Rosa the well-deserved Man of the Match title.
The second semi-final between Seraulim and Benaulim B Veterans was a nail-biting affair. Benaulim B took an early lead with two goals, but Seraulim refused to back down. They staged a remarkable comeback, scoring two goals through Jess Cardozo and Sandeep Shanke, the latter being named Man of the Match for his inspiring performance. With the scores tied at the end of regulation time, the match went into a penalty shoot-out. Seraulim held their nerve and emerged victorious with a 5-4 win.
The final is now set to be played on May 23. In addition to the main event, a girls exhibition match between Warriors FC and Cana Benaulim Sporting Association will also be held.
