Vedanta Women’s Football League from Nov 13

The 6th Edition of Vedanta Women’s Football League will kick off from November 13 with a double header featuring Sinquerim SC vs CSM Taleigao and Compassion FC vs Kelbai SC at Duler and Navelim football grounds respectively.

Five teams, namely, Kelbai SC, CSM Taleigao, Churchill Brothers FC, Compassion FC and Sinquerim SC, will compete in a double leg format for the championship title this season. The league tournament is likely to conclude by the end of November.

Vedanta Women's football League is one of its kind footballing platforms launched by Vedanta in collaboration with Goa Football Association (GFA) to provide opportunities to the aspiring women footballers across the state to showcase their talent, and to support them to excel further in Football. Throughout last five editions, women footballers from all corners of the state participated in the league, and this season as well over 60+ women footballers will be participating in this prestigious league. Top performers from the league such as Karishma Shirvoikar, Michel Castanha and others are shining at various prestigious national and international footballing platforms.

Vedanta Women’s League initiative provides opportunities to women players to compete and pursue professional career in football. Since its inception, the league has provided platform to over 300 footballers.

MARGAOQuepem Veterans registered a narrow victory over Candolim  Veterans by 2-1 and moved into the quarter-finals of the tournament organised by  Batora United Veterans Curtorim which was played on St Alex Church  ground, Curtorim.
