Verna Veterans into quarters

Verna Veterans beat Carmona Veterans 6-5 via the tiebreaker and moved into the quarterfinals of the Davorlim/Dicarpale Sports Lovers Veterans football tournament at Davorlim ground on Tuesday. Verna Veterans surged ahead in the 4th minute through Remedios Baretto. Verna Veterans upped the ante and scored through Michael Baretto and Milagres Mascarenhas in the 21st and 34th minutes respectively.

In the second half, Carmona Veterans were a transformed side. Charles Rodrigues made it 1-3 in the 48th minute. Later, Clement and Raju netted a goal each for Carmona Veterans and levelled terms. In the tiebreaker, Verna Veterans proved to be better shooters.

MARGAOPaldem defeated hosts United Club of Unjirim 6-5 via the tiebreaker and moved into the quarterfinals of United Club of Unjirim Inter-ward football tournament played at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim on Tuesday. Godwin Mascarenhas broke the deadlock in the 5th minute. As the match progressed it was a fierce battle between the two teams. In last minute of the match, Alister Costa equalised for Unjirim United. In the tiebreaker, Paldem got the better of Unjirim.
