A first-half strike by Aniela Baretto helped Churchill Brothers to beat a spirited Compassion FC 1-0 in the 6th GFA Vedanta Women's League at Rosary ground, Navelim on Sunday.
Churchill Brothers continued their dominance and remained unbeaten. The Red Machines started the game on a positive note with their forwards troubling the rival defence with frequent moves upfront. Compassion FC defender Remediana Noronnha did well at the back, never allowing the opponents to have a look at the goal.
Churchill Brothers' breakthrough came in the 41st minute when forward Aniela beat the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. The goal proved to be the match-winner.
