India will take on Bhutan on January 23 in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship 2026 at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Thailand.
The Futsal Tigresses are currently on nine points from four matches, with Bangladesh close behind on seven points from three games. Pakistan are also on seven points but trail Bangladesh on goal difference.
India coach Joshuah Vaz said the team would assess all aspects carefully ahead of the Bhutan encounter. “There were positives and areas for improvement from the earlier match against Bhutan, and these will be communicated clearly to the players. Our full focus is now on this game,” Vaz said.
He added that the team’s approach would remain unchanged. “We approach every match with the same intention, and it will be no different against Bhutan. We will prepare well and try to win,” he said.
The championship is being played in a league format, with the top team crowned champions. India have two matches remaining ” against Bhutan on January 23 and Sri Lanka on January 25. Vaz said the team was in high spirits and determined to secure maximum points, adding that the title race remains open and could be decided on the final match day.
