Dempo Sports Club winger Laximanrao Rane declared that Dempo's target is to win the I-League 2 title.
Speaking to The Goan expressed his joy and determination, articulating his aspirations to leave an indelible mark for Dempo on the national stage and eventually on the club level scene.
Rane said that winning the title was a realistic target for his side. “The vibe of our team was amazing. The crowd has also helped us. We are looking to win the tournament. It is realistic target,” said Rane who scored a brilliant goal against Sporting Club Bengaluru.
He also said adapting quickly is important for a footballer as it helps a lot with his performance. Rane hailing from Bicholim started his journey when Coach Samir Naik caught eye of his exceptional skills.
According to Rane, under the able stewardship of head coach Samir Naik, Dempo are going in the right direction. "We have a strong squad and we have the potential to win this tournament. He known for his positive mindset and has embraced all the challenges that have come his way and focused on what he wants to achieve," added Rane.
Inspired by his father, a revered footballer from a bygone era, Rane's deep familial connection to the sport serves as a driving force behind his passion and unwavering dedication to excel in football. His journey stands as a testament to the pivotal role of mentorship and familial support in nurturing young talent.
When asked about the team’s performance in the Santosh Trophy, Rane stated, “Performance wise, I feel each team member gave their 100 per cent, the team management was motivating and encouraged us throughout the campaign. On one level, I could call this campaign a successful one since we qualified and at the same time we need to work on our potential to achieve our future targets.”
