Bhatti SC lifted the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 with a 5-3 victory over Agxem SC in the final of the 9-a-side Inter-Ward Football Tournament, organised by Sporting Club Virabhat at the St Alex Church ground in Curtorim.
A large Sunday crowd witnessed an exciting final. Agxem SC took the lead in the 10th minute through Jovel Martins, but Bhatti SC responded in the 18th minute with an equaliser from Ralf Dias, making it 1-1 at halftime.
Bhatti took charge in the second half, as Tony Dias put them ahead in the 40th minute. Ralf Dias scored again in the 45th minute to extend the lead to 3-1. Despite Agxem’s efforts to fight back, Bhatti’s defence stood strong to seal the win.
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony, joined by Rui Menezes, Caetano Hilario, PI Filomena Costa, Adv Coleman Rodrigues, Arnaldo Costa, Conceicao Dias, Remedias Mascarenhas, Inacio Noronha, Alex Dias, Terencio Fernandes, and patron members of SC Virabhat.
