The youth of Tilamola Parish came together in great enthusiasm for the Indoor Sports Tournament held on Sunday at the Our Lady Mother of the Poor High School Sports Hall.
The event, organised exclusively for the registered youth of the parish, began at 3.30 pm with an opening prayer, setting a reflective and spirited tone for the evening.
Designed to promote fellowship, healthy competition, and unity, the tournament served as a platform for young participants to showcase their skills, build friendships, and strengthen community ties. Competitions were held in carrom, table tennis, and badminton, with each event witnessing high energy, competitive spirit, and commendable sportsmanship.
The tournament was graced by Franky Fernandes as the chief guest. A highlight of the event was an exhibition table tennis match that captivated the audience. The match featured Fr Aldrin D’Costa and Fr Denrish D’Costa against Franky Fernandes and Fr Aidan Fernandes, with the latter duo emerging victorious under the supervision of official Reagan Costa.
In the carrom competition, officiated by Vivon Costa, Levito Dias claimed the winner's title, with Joshua Gomes as the runner-up. Table tennis matches, overseen by Fr Aldrin D’Costa, saw Samford Dasilva secure first place, followed by Esban Fernandes in second. In badminton, Cassius Fernandes emerged victorious, while Preston Fernandes took the runner-up spot. The event was officiated by Ivon Coutinho.
The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony honouring the winners and acknowledging all participants for their enthusiastic involvement.
