Calangute Veterans prevailed over Curtorim Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march on into the semifinals of 2nd Assolda Veterans Cup, organised by Assolda Veterans, at Kamsai Moll ground, Assolda, on Friday.

Curtorim's Fr Milagres Dias was a torn in the opposition's flesh as he troubled the rival defence and goalkeeper on several occasions. Former international player Robert Fernandes controlled play by orchestrating raids across the park with his accurate passes from the midfield. However, despite several attempts and goal scoring opportunities both the teams failed to break the deadlock. At the end of the final whistle, the match was set to be decided by penalty kicks.

In the resultant tiebreaker that followed, the Calangute players maintained their composure to score all their five penalties. However, Curtorim Veterans managed to score only four attempts.
