Curtorim Gymkhana booked their place in the semifinals of the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 with a 2-1 win over Calangute Association at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
Calangute created the first real chance in the 10th minute but Mervin D’Souza’s attempt went wide. Curtorim too tested rival keeper Philip Coutinho, who stood firm to keep the first half goalless.
Curtorim broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Anslem Fernandes finished off a pass from Ryan Fernandes. Ten minutes later, Ryan doubled the lead after a neat exchange with Anslem.
Calangute clawed back with a goal in the 58th minute through Runal Shirodkar’s penalty after a handball in the box, but could not find the equaliser.
Curtorim held on for a 2-1 win, with Anslem Fernandes earning the Man of the Match award, presented by former Curtorim Gymkhana players Claudio Fernandes and Savio Vaz.
