Some of the biggest names in Indian table tennis will headline the inaugural She Paddle International Masters Women’s Table Tennis Tournament 2025, to be held from September 5-7 at Aralia Beach Resort, Morjim.

Among the stars are Mantu Murmur, 60+ world champion; Rita Jain, former national champion, masters national champion and Commonwealth medallist; and Mangal Saraf, World Championship silver medallist in women’s doubles and eight-time masters national champion. The tournament will also see international participation, with a representative from Bucharest, Romania, underlining the event’s global reach.

Organised for the first time in India, She Paddle is a dedicated international masters women’s prize money tournament offering a purse of Rs 1.25 lakh and trophies. Between 50 and 100 players from across India and abroad are expected to compete across veterans 40+, 50+ and 60+ categories in singles, doubles and team events.

Organisers said the tournament aims to “showcase the strength, resilience, and enduring passion of women athletes” in the masters category, while also positioning Goa as a hub for international sporting events.

The organisers also announced that the 2026 edition will be hosted in Bucharest, Romania, further establishing the event’s international status.

The grand finale on September 7 will feature the launch of 'Smash Her Story', a book honouring 32 Indian national women champions from 1947 to 2024. Written by Shamik Chakrabarty and Dileep Premachandran under the guidance of sports historian Boria Majumder, the book is endorsed by Petra Sörling, ITTF President and IOC Member. The organisers said the book goes beyond statistics to celebrate “resilience, breaking barriers, and the creation of role models for future generations.”

At the launch press conference, Moonmoon Mukherjee, former international player and creator of 'Smash Her Story', described She Paddle as “not just a tournament, but a movement” to celebrate women athletes who continue their sporting journeys.

The tournament will also see the presence of Kamlesh Mehta, Arjuna Awardee and Secretary General of TTFI; actor Pooja Bedi; Dr Geeta Nagvenkar of SAI; industrialist Niraj Bajaj; and officials from the Goa Table Tennis Association.

“She Paddle 2025 promises world-class competition, inspiring stories, and a celebration of women who have redefined the spirit of the game,” the organisers said.
